Human Rights/IHL Trainers (part time)

Our profile

Safestainable is an independent consultancy specializing in non-financial risk management. We provide advice and services that enable companies operating in volatile areas to manage strategic and operational risks and to create sustainable business opportunities. We are currently expanding our pool of experienced human rights/IHL instructors able to conduct trainings for armed and/or public security forces.

Your mission

You will be providing professional human rights and IHL training to public security, private security, and/or wildlife ranger organisations in various countries. In addition, you may conduct security and human rights training for employees of major companies. The length of assignments and destinations will depend upon your qualifications, background and availability. Individual missions often last one to two weeks. Depending on your professional experience, you may be given the opportunity to participate as a consultant in other Safestainable projects focused on wider aspects of security and human rights implementation.

Your profile

You are a former senior police or military officer and an experienced human rights/IHL instructor who has personally trained armed and/or police forces in various countries. A sound theoretical and practical knowledge of human rights and International Humanitarian Law is required.

Practical experience with Training of Trainers programmes, previous experience with the ICRC or the UN, and/or French or Portuguese proficiency would be an asset. We are especially interested in candidates with previous training experience in Mozambique.
